  2. Couple of things that don't matter. The children and the taxpayers. Don't know what happened to shangrila, they got their black gay female trifecta to run the city.

  3. I feel for city teachers who work long hours for shit pay and are expected to teach kids with little support from home at times and have to live far to afford to live due to that shit pay.

But "The union shunned 5-year, 24 percent teacher raises and continues to demand more, including thousands in new hires and additional benefits like affordable housing." Too far...

Asking the city to provide affordable housing as a benefit seems like they went way to far versus simply asking for better pay and benefits.

The thing is teachers is a 100% outgo on a city budget sadly. If you have the best teachers working for shit pay in the city, they still don't generate increased tax revenues to cover those costs. It is not like the suburbs where better schools allows for higher property taxes.

It is a no win situation even if the teachers are asking for simple raises to keep up with inflation.

The teachers union rejected at 16% pay increase.

Fuck them. Holding children hostage is not cool.

  5. Chicago is a mafia fiefdom and the teachers are just one faction wanting their share upped. Their support is important to the machine but not as important as the police, transit and sanitation factions. The argument centers around how much more blood can be bled from their host, the city's few remaining taxpayers, without running a serious threat of killing it. The police can barely keep things under control now and don't want to risk it. The teachers are real pirates, they don't give a shit. They just want theirs. Hey, good luck to them. They have our future in their hands.

  6. Pirates. That's a perfect description of the CTU. They don't care, and have never cared about anything other than their own pocketbook. Ask them to answer where the money comes from to pay for all their demands, they'll just shrug their shoulders and say, not our problem.

    Break the union. Greedy bastards.

Chicago schools are at the bottom of every testing category. Only in bizarro liberal utopia does that get rewarded with massive percentage pay increases and other utterly ridiculous demands.
