The case of Andrew Tahmooressi, a former Marine who was arrested in Mexico on weapons charges in March, has become a cause célèbre for the Tea Party and the conservative media.

His mother, Jill Tahmooressi, has been a frequent guest on Fox News. Seventy-four Tea Party Congress members have signed on to a letter demanding his release from a Mexican jail and demanding that Barack Obama close the border until Tahmooressi is released. His story has been covered extensively on Fox News and on conservative websites, including Drudge Report, WorldNetDaily and Breitbart.

All of them echo Tahmooressi’s claim that it was a simple mistake that he entered Mexico with a a fully loaded AR-15 5.56 caliber assault-style rifle, a chrome-plated 1911 model Colt .45 caliber pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun, extra clips for the rifle and the pistol and 457 rounds of ammunition. It was an accident, the result of a wrong turn. But like Cliven Bundy and other recent conservative heroes, on closer inspection there are serious problems with Tahmooressi’s story. more . . .

Another dumb fuck being "liberal" with the facts to suit their agenda. He wasn't IN Mexico. He was at a border checkpoint, by honest mistake. He asked to be allowed to turn around only they wouldn't let him, even though they should have. His weapons were perfectly LEGAL and he told the border guards he had the weapons before they did any search.

How do I know you ask? I've met and talked with him mom, in person.

All DB does is post Salon and Slate articles, with the occasional HuffPo sprinkled in. You don't expect balanced viewpoints coming from him, do you?

Based on his history in this forum. I only expect ignorance, intellectual dishonesty, empty rhetoric and thoroughly debunked leftist talking points

Don't forget obfuscation and ignoring any questions that aren't convenient.

That's the problem with using ignore Lil' Ricky. Sometimes you make a fool of yourself and you don't even know it.

Doesn't change the fact that the rest of us know it, though :)

Lucrum, if he was not in Mexico how did the Mexicans arrest him? Do they have the ability to do that if he was on US soil?

Poor guy might have been confused with PTSD and you would hate to see someone made an example of, but i am guessing there is more to the story. Mind you, as a non US person entering the US the border authorities have always been pretty non friendly (I have a few personal stories of BS technical issues with friends) - maybe the Mexcians are thinking payback.

Maybe all the Mexicans crossing the border into the US got lost as well. (thats a joke for those with no sense of humour)
