The business of "Victimhood"

  1. Many liberals are sometimes accused of "playing the victim" as a way to secure financial gain and political leverage for selfish reasons. While some may advocate for genuine social change, there are far too many instances where individuals intentionally exaggerate or fabricate their experiences of victimhood to gain personal advantage. By portraying themselves as victims, they can attract media attention, rally support, and leverage public sympathy to secure financial rewards, such as donations, speaking fees, or career opportunities. This strategy can also be used to influence political outcomes, with the victim narrative helping to sway public opinion or garner votes. Critics argue that this manipulation of victimhood not only undermines real struggles but also shifts the focus away from meaningful reform in favor of personal profit and power which has become all too common today. In fact, many people including the media can make large sums of money by promoting victimhood.

  3. Victimhood will be around for as long as there are lazy people.
Just look at Sharpton and Joy Reid, they made millions off it as did the BLM scam.
