No reply yet so lemme share some random thoughts. The #1 benefit I'm getting from consuming alcohol is not the buzz, although I'm not dismissing that as a bonus. It's psychological: reliably and reproducibly like an antibiotic that kills bacteria infection, alcohol kills empathy feelings in my brain. In other words for a short period in a very dependable way, it makes me a psychopath. It's never a final victory, empathy returns the moment I stop consuming the antidote and grows to unbearable levels over time, requiring another dose to keep functioning. Generally takes 1 week to 1 month for another regular sixpack but special circumstances may require emergency handling like direct shots (of tequilla) . People, society in general, scorn psychopaths and admire empathy because, well, of the reverse vampire effect. It benefits THEM instead of ME. What's not to like about it?
