Hi, Can someone explain to me what the CMEGroup's Thanksgiving hours actually means: http://www.cmegroup.com/tools-information/holiday-calendar/files/2009-thanksgiving.pdf It shows Globex opening up for trading at 6:00 PM (EST) today, "for trade date Friday". Does this mean electronic futures trading isn't actually stopping for Thanksgiving, except from 13:15 ET - 18:00 ET tomorrow?
Correct, and anything traded tomorrow will be on fridays trade day. Friday also closes early, 12:45 CST. Why trade ON holidays? BAH HUMBUG!!
I know it, I know it. But I'm trading a multi-day hedging strategy, so gotta show up for work tomorrow to. Well, not me, but the system running the strategy. No eggnog for the server!
