(Reuters) - Telsa Inc Chief Executive Elon Musk on Thursday called for Amazon.com Inc to be broken up, after an author complained on social media about being unable to self-publish a book via the world’s largest online retailer. “This is insane @JeffBezos,” Musk tweeted at Amazon’s chief. Both men are billionaires and oversee competing space exploration companies on top of their duties at Telsa and Amazon. “Time to break up Amazon. Monopolies are wrong!” Musk added in a second tweet. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...-for-breakup-of-amazon-in-tweet-idUSKBN23B307
Musk is worried that AMZN will put TSLA out of business. Zoox and Rivian are on the table at AMZN, it's just a matter of time if Bezos decides to go that route.
I doubt that. Bezos is smart enough to know that he's succeeded in pissing off both political parties to the point that he's on the ragged edge of a Federal antitrust action.
Every other van on the road in every big city is an amzn delivery vehicle. Musk should be building electric vans for Bezos... global warming and all. I knoooow... it'll barely put a dent in carbon emmissions, but how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. School-buses too. All new ones should be electric. And if social distancing is going to require multiple shifts at public schools, there will be a lot more buses belching diesel exhaust daily. Charge em all up overnight.
Rivian is building delivery vans for Amazon, and Bezos is a big investor. And the Rivian electric truck platform is a world beater. Rivian is also building bare platforms for Ford pickup trucks, and Ford is a big investor. And Rivian is going to build vehicles on proper assembly lines in Detroit - not in outdoor tents erected in California. Tesla fit, finish, and paint is atrocious. The powertrain and the software is incredibly good and has a serious headstart on everyone else.
I forgot about that. https://elitetrader.com/et/threads/f.309717/page-4#post-4890652 Are they actually building them now?
