As everybody knows, TD Ameritrade was acquired by Schwab, and is currently in a transition phase.
The clients get a notification of the upcoming date (in several months) for the moving of the account from TDA to Schwab...

    Latest news:
Excerpt from two slightly different public messages (US, International) that was also emailed to clients who soon will be moved to Schwab:

    SCHW actually found an old TD account;
I left that as bonus to them, but since they wanted me to have it , took it back:D:D
I've done that several times but I'm not that hard to get a long with.

I herewith declare my willingness to accept it, if you so insist to give it away :)
But only if it's not empty :)

LOL I see your points:D:D.Same here.
I almost always accept a bonus or Christmas bonus .
BUT I should have told them it was a bonus , markets are so regulated , dont know if that's even allowed ?LOL
SCHW has excellent customer service, but that is expensive for any co to do that.

Funny, mine switched over like a month ago. They forced me to change my credentials, which wasn't that funny. What's taking them so long to smack you in the head?

    Mine is scheduled for May.
As they stated: 15 million accounts already moved. This is really a big user base; it just takes time. Better late than unsafe.

Tell us about your experience at Schwab :)

Yeah, I also got the email for migration in May.

Hopefully they have worked out the many transition kinks people have been complaining about for months.

I mainly trade from TOS and I haven't yet experienced anything out of the ordinary. And I hope they leave TOS alone, otherwise they could lose a lot of traders, especially in options.

I think they know that TOS is beloved. Hopefully the stupid color change to the icon is as much as they meddle with it.

We had a TDA account here in Singapore. One day we received a notice asking for our income and assets value to determine if we met the new criteria to hold a TDA account, as part of the transition to Schwab.
Once that was cleared, our Singapore account was closed and a new account based in the US was opened without our consent. Their goal was to make it a seamless transfer, which was all but. For example, separate lots were consolidated into one and, worse, all my watchlists disappeared and were unrecoverable. Finally, we were not allowed to hold two separate accounts (like one for investments, the other for trading). Total shit show and we're still not transferred to Schwab..
The only reason we still have a TDA account is because I'm familiar with TOS charts. But we opened an IB account for trading purposes and won't hesitate to move everything to IB at the first sign of further hassles during the final transition to Schwab.
