Even before the pandemic, tax and accounting services have been moving online. As long as you use a qualified tax professional who is licensed to practice in the USA, it doesn't matter where they are... unless it is important to you to be able to meet face-to-face in New York City. Good luck with that. Green Trader Tax has a very good reputation. They are a sponsor here on ET. But I have no personal experience with them. Their physical office appears to be in Connecticut. BMK
a good accountant will want to do the work themselves as part of their process. The work you can do is provide them clear organized documentation so that they don’t have to figure out all your financials.
What I was thinking during the Dot Com period traders would drop off a apple box full of trade confirmations unopened. When I handed my accountant everything in a vanilla envelope(All income/expenses on Excel documents, trades with proof by Year End Broker totals.) he was shocked how little there was to do.
