Finally seeing the tariffs unfolding and creating huge downfalls in all markets. Already a crisis in farm exporters......

There has been a sharp decline in China to U.S. vessel traffic, down 22.15% week-over-week and 44% year-over-year through April 14, according to the Vizion Global Ocean Bookings Tracker.

“What we’ve seen in the last two weeks is a continued correction in booking demand for U.S. imports, especially U.S. imports from China,” said Ben Tracy, vice president of strategic business development at Vizion. “We are now seeing this translate to a drop in departures as well,” he added.

    What nonsense !!!!!!!!!!!!
    The US farmers are happy.

corn, soya .... futures price didn't go down since the tariff war.

LE cattle, HE hog ... futures price keep on going up.

eg HE hog futures in early Jan 2025 was $80.
    Now $100 !!!!

Those US farmers must be laughing all the way to the bank.

China going to have to liquidate some Gold when the spigot of America declines. Tariffs ultimately get passed onto whoever is buying their goods. So the wrench that was twenty bucks will be $50. Only way to curb citizens to stop buying foreign made goods. Pay down their own debt.

I really doubt the tariffs will go on for more than a year. But you can't keep feeding our enemies with cash. USA is the biggest buyer of everything but other countries need to equally buy from us.

The question is who is paying those higher prices?
It wouldn't be the american consumer would it?

For most Americans, buying things is the only mental health treatment they can afford, a little dopamine when the package arrives.
Tariffs won't just raise prices. They'll cut off their last reliable hit of happiness.
And since most lack the constitution to grow through hardship, Trump will have simply made them sad and they won't thank him.

This must be done gradually. Like manufacturers reducing salt in food over a decade.
