Swing Trading on the Daily Chart

Discussion in 'Trading' started by steveburns0267, Aug 28, 2023.

  1. What sort of things do you look for when trying to find an entry on the daily chart? Any particular candlestick patterns, indicators, etc that have worked well in your experience? I work full time so only having to check the charts in the evening would be great for me. Thanks.

    Here's my straw man

Use weeklys to define direction / contextualize price / PA

Use daily's to determine where.., within the weekly - price is - and what it's doing in relationship to the weekly

Wait till your setup appears - enter accordingly - setting a stop..., and potential profit target

Full disclosure - I am not a swing trader

    My Red Dum Dum,

    Quit while you are behind.

Placing a stop is no different than placing a profit target..

Risk /Reward does exist,no matter how boldly you say Reward is a myth..Is there something magical about placing a stop?? Is it not a potential price?? Is there something not magical about placing a profit target?? Is it not a potential price as well??

Put me out of my misery and look at the Risk Reward graph Laissez Faire poposted....

  10. What I assume you mean is that nobody can predict with 100 % accuracy/certainty, but the market is most certainly not random and there are certain scenarios that can be predicted with a very high probability.

For example, ES today, have a very high probability of closing below 4440.

It's a range bound day, so not much more may happen, but it certainly warns against going long in the current area (4436).
