This is just crap being pushed by the Swedish Health Minister who is shortly going to be without a job. He has a model making wild claims about "herd immunity" being arrived at -- but is unwilling to provide or disclose the model to anyone for evaluation. This is junk science at its worse while the death rate in Sweden is much higher than its neighbors. Actually sampling shows that 3% to 10% of the people living in urban areas of Sweden have positive antibodies for COVID-19. Way below the figures needed for hear immunity he is claiming. And way below his 20% country-wide claims. Trying to claim the death rate of COVID-19 is the same as the flu is absurd. Anyone making this type of claim needs to have their head examined.

Well, if you are a person who died in Sweden so the government could keep the country open it does kind of suck. I like Trump's approach. Try to preserve life without causing permanent damage to the lives of everyone who has not become sick. There is an optimum equilibrium point there of course.
The 0.1% flu death number is bs. CDC estimates 10% on high end catch the flu every year. That's 35 million Americans. X 0.1% death rate thats 35,000 Americans who die of the flu every year. In bad flu years, upwards of 90k Americans die of the flu. So that's 0.3% death rate in bad flu years. Guv cumou said covid19 deaths were 0.5% yesterday. Forget testing for Covid. At this point, the only test that matters is the COVID antibody test. Everyone should be getting THAT test, because it is the ONLY one that matters. Because EVERYONE is going to get the COVID virus until a vaccine is developed. You can test for COVID asymptomatically and negative 10 ten times in 10 weeks, and what does that mean? It means nada, zilch, zip. But if instead you were tested for the antibody and showed up positive as an asympto, you could stop testing that person. Case CLOSED.
