  1. Hell is upon us. Free speech is to be effectively cancelled. Online political discussions may result in lawsuits against perpetrator and loss of employment without a court trial. Starting with those employed in the real estate industry and who are members of the National Association of Realtors.

My strong advice to you, comrades, is to take time to learn the correct way of thinking and never deviate from it at any time or anywhere. Remember, your electronic devices are always listening to you and no doubt have the capability to automatically report “Pre-terrorist act preparation” to authorities.

If you own any firearms, I suggest you turn them in now as a show of goodwill to our conquerers. This noble act may help cancel your otherwise shady past of being associated with Republicans or with Conservative values.

Churchgoers, beware. Remember, many of our beloved leaders in big technology companies and the Democrat Party have concluded that God, at least as described in the Bible, does not exist. Therefore, we must not abuse our religious privileges, especially by using church as a platform to express political dissent.

Political matters are best left to our professional politicians. After all, you don’t question what your doctor advises, right? It is better this way. You can be free to be more productive instead of wasting time in futile and counterproductive discussions.

A word of warning: Those who engage in inappropriate behavior, but are still considered redeemable, will be required to undergo retraining. As far as the others, look to history as a guide.

Welcome to a new age of societal evolution and may it be all that our authoritarians hope it will be.

Attached below is an article describing the use of a trade organization to enforce political correctness. Membership for the National and local association of Realtors is required in most cases to access the Multiple Listing Service(MLS), a fundamental part of a real estate agent’s employment. Other professions, such as real estate appraisers need access to MLS as well. Basically, the loss of MLS privileges effectively results in the loss of employment for most real estate agents. Remember, anyone can file an compliant, from ex-lover to disgruntled customer to butt-hurt bar patron losing a political argument with you.

In what some consider one of the most far-reaching social policy moves in the corporate world, the National Association of Realtors, called the nation's largest trade organization, has revised its professional ethics code to ban “hate speech and harassing speech” by its 1.4 million members.

The sweeping prohibition applies to association members 24/7, covering all communication, private and professional, written and spoken, online and off. Punishment could top out at a maximum fine of $15,000 and expulsion from the organization.

Mary Wagner, a Buffalo real estate agent who is white and lesbian, says the move, announced in November, fits her vision for creating a fairer society. She predicts thousands of complaints this year, given the realtor association's enormous size and the overheated climate of social media.

“I was thrilled to hear it,” Wagner said in a phone interview. “I think it’s long overdue.”

NAR’s decision, allowing any member of the public to file a complaint, has alarmed other real estate agents, and also some legal and ethics experts, who say the hate speech ban’s vagueness is an invitation to censor controversial political opinions, especially on race and gender. While that’s not the association’s stated intention, the skeptics say their fears are justified by the hyperactive “cancel culture” online that has jettisoned hapless workers for posting “all lives matter” and objecting to gay marriage.

“The dam has broken and other organizations will look at this,” predicted Robert Föehl, a professor of business ethics and business law at Ohio University.

“If this is good for real estate agents, why not attorneys, why not doctors?” Föehl said. “They’re going to be pressured to do what NAR has done. And that pressure is going to be very real, because what organization wants to argue they should allow hate speech by their members?”

I'm thinking Costa Rica or Panama. North Mexico?

The lockdowns will never end. Quebec shutting down manufacturing, construction, schools "for a month"....... + an 8pm curfew

Costa Rica is nice but Panama has more infrastructure and services etc. Aside from a proclivity for cash payments the banking system down there is tolerable and I never had any problems even during a pretty rigorous lockdown. If you obey Panamanian law, make an attempt to learn the language and behave its a good country to spend time in.

I don't care for Mexico. Used to race every year Newport-Ensenada (PHRF-G lol) and it got worse and worse every year until the entire race was disbanded. Baja is just exceedingly dangerous. I'm sure there are parts of Mexico that are live-able but outside a few enclaves near Cabo I don't think Baja is on the list.

In the big picture I think that a largish chunk of the population will be ungovernable including me. What that means will vary wildly of course. Mobility is good but I'm going to keep a footprint here. Might as well since you cannot renounce citizenship and escape taxation anymore.

  8. You probably can get away with English in panama but not going to really experience the life there without Spanish. I am bilingual so I enjoy it to the fullest when I swing through there. If you can earn a U.S. type salary in panama you can live like a king though the cost of living has gone up with more foreign money pouring in.

The traffic in the city sucks balls (not since COVID and restrictions though :) ) and if you live in a nice community without having to commute you wont worry about it.

Last I checked you can. You still owe what you owe now and have to pay, but after that you have no further filing obligation.

What it will mean for 99.99% of individuals is that they'll comply enough to stay out of the clink. And that will be sufficient for all of us, since we're already doing that.
