So, for a while now I've always wanted a good type of game that either simulates Wall Street and/or capitalism, and other economic factors. Basically, I always am looking for something that's fun to play, but educational in this genre. Unfortunately, just about every single Wall Street game I've come across sucks and has horrible reviews. In all honesty, I think that old NES game I used to play around the late 80's "Wall Street Kid" on my Nintendo is probably superior to anything else. And IIRC that game sorta sucked in its own way (I only bothered to rent it once). lol A while back, I had heard a lot of SuperPower II, and how it should satisfy anyone's GeoPolitical tendencies, etc. I never did get into it, but decided to wait for a bit since everyone said SuperPower III was under development. Well, low & behold, I got hit by an advert on youtube last night for SP-III. So I checked out the Steam store, and I see it's got horrible ratings across the board right now. Looks like it's nothing but a massive amount of bugs, and many early purchasers complaining it feels more like a game that's still in alpha or beta development. LOL. Anyone with experience want to share some insight here? Should I just wait a year and give it a shot after a few patches, or is there something else that combines Wall Street/Capitalism/Economics etc in some sort of package? I guess the only thing that comes to mind is that old Capitalism II title.
Haha! That was like the only other thing I've come across suggested. But really? I used to have Monopoly Tycoon many years ago. Oddly, I actually miss it. LOL.
The games about finance sucks, at least the ones that i tried. Probably, because, they were made by the folk with little of knowladge in finance. Yup, better to stick with Monopoly, less stress. Or, what i would do, would use mods related to finance/efonomics in different games. Goals like achieving $1Mil or something. Same paradox in all games. First 10K looks a lot. Later you end up with 3Mil bank and it's like, blaaah. All about the journey, not the goal.
