I have no idea what will happen come election day in November... but there are a myriad of little things I'm seeing, things that make no sense at all. Today cemented that. In early Feb I wrote I was scared. In May, I wrote it again. There's things going on, I see it in ways that most never would. Its a stock thing... because I've trained my mind over a gillion trades on things I understand to observe subtle little things that most never would in a million years. That is what it is, and please don't ask me to elaborate... but I would would not make this up. Look, maybe I'm wrong... I hope I am... but I am writing this because no matter which side you're on here... you guys are all pretty good cats.... and despite everything else.... I really do mean that. I'm not saying go out and be a prepper.... but I sure as hell would go out and buy lots of water, solid food-stuffs, and anything else you think you might need. TP was a joke in so many ways, but it also spoke volumes... it really did. Open your eyes and think about it. Will the grid crash(?)..... I have no idea on that one. But I know one thing, I SURE AS HELL WOULD NOT BE WITHOUT A GENERATOR. And not one that uses only natty. But that's me. I like electricity. No one knows what's going to happen in 51 days... but I can tell you this.... somewhere out there there's some serious interests preparing for the worst. I see it. Could be all for not, lets hope it is... but be smart. An ounce of prevention.... Our supply system is fragile af.... most have no idea.... but only fools take it for granted. Ya'll should be smarter than that. If nothing else... buy water. And food that will keep. There's nothing to lose there. My track record here is pretty damn good on calling out future events. Do with it what you want.... and by all means... hope I'm wrong. Just know, the system, whatever that entails, is prepping for something big. Of that I know.
A generator is a pretty good way to alert your neighbors that you're prepared. A solid way to make yourself a target. Having sold equipment like that in a past life I can tell you in a quiet neighborhood even a small gas generator is loud enough to hear half a block away in good weather. You can bet your less fortunate neighbors will be eying your house when they start to get hungry. I wouldn't trust neighbors I'm friendly with either. Hunger makes people do funny things. Methinks it would be better to keep extra car batteries around and swap them in and out of your car. Start the car occasionally to charge them under the guise of "just making sure the ole wagon is ready to roll if shit gets bad". Plausible deniability so your neighbors don't ambush you on the way out to see what the weather is like. People act funny when they suddenly are faced with their own mortality. We saw that with people getting beaten half to death over toilet paper and canned beans earlier this year. Solar is the better option if you can put down $25,000 for the install knowing full well you will never see a return on investment. IMO a better "grid goes down oh shit" kit would include a way to defend yourself, several months worth of medicines, 6 months of food and water, several ways to start a fire, medical supplies, radios (you did get your ham license, right?), batteries, water purification, and something to keep you from going bonkers being bored. A good trading book, perhaps? The real goal is to just survive the first month. After that anyone who was unprepared will be in a FEMA shelter or dead. Sucks, but that's reality. Prepper has such a negative connotation to it. There's nothing wrong with having a continuity plan in the face of never before seen political unrest and massive division even among our own party leaders. Just don't start painting your face in bear shit and listening to QAnon. No need to go crazy. Follow what the mormons do. Prepare for the worst and then go about your normal life. For some reason "preppers" make it their entire personality which is entirely obnoxious.
What exactly was it about today that cemented it? I didn't watch any news. Something ominous happened, or was announced?
Yeh, well some of us live in areas where we drive through neighborhoods that have already seen the previews of coming events and in fact are still in progress. Make sure you buy more ammunition while you are getting your TP and foodstuffs- if you can find it. You are on your own in many, many communities now.
The only thing that's getting weird is the circus that is the US these days. It won't come to anything other then some moderate stock market volatility and an almost complete meltdown of Trump when he loses the election. The only real threat out there is the second wave of Covid in the US and how well you deal with it.
CNN and a reporter from The Atlantic admitted the media is biased for Biden and against Trump. Hell then froze over.
The safest thing one can do is to be in a remote location with large number, say 100 or more of like minded people. Being remote, if there is such as thing anymore, with just your family is not being secure, in my opinion. Being in a suburban or urban neighborhood and not even knowing your neighbors is not a good place to be when facing a crisis. It may be time to introduce ourselves and have a talk with them on prepardness and mutual defense. However, if the sheet really goes down, getting out of a urban or suburban area safely may be impossible. As far as our supply chain is concerned, while it is hardened to a degree, severe civil unrest may prevent all the supplies that are typically delivered to urban areas from being seen. This in turn would likely increase civil unrest. People who live and work in suburban and urban areas are likely feel stuck there unless the writing on the wall slaps them upside the head. It seems likely to me that we will see a megadeath event within the next thirty years. Probably later, rather than sooner, if it does happen. When, why, or magnitude, I don’t have an idea formed enough worth mentioning at this point. However, if there is an event related to the elections, I would predict it would be contained within six weeks without the necessity of completely rebuilding our country. It would not take too long of being cut off of social media and electricity that most American protesters would long for the life they had before. If I’m wrong about that, well... Viva la revolution!
