My wife and I had the long-form version of that video playing the other night. It lasted for a hours and was breathtaking. We got married in Maui and were just talking the other day about how cool it would be to move there at this point in our lives.

Until it all blows up. Yeah yeah, Oahu is all shield volcos and is considered tame compared to the big isle. But man...?

At least hurricanes come and go, and you can see them coming. Ug...!

There's no active volcanoes on Oahu, just the big island.... no worries

Lots of great people and scenery though. Only challenge is being up early for trading.

The one downside I did notice on Maui was that everything went into total system shutdown at about 9PM. I mean, it's like the entire island went dark and there was absolutely nothing to do later than that. My clubbing days are definitely over but damn, it just seemed like you couldn't even find a bar to hang out past that 9PM cutoff time.

Yeah island life is like living in a small rural town, it gets quiet after dark.

That's one reason I lived in Waikiki for so many years.... it has more energy and nightlife than anywhere else, though touristy, it was fun.

I mastered the pua skills for meeting lots of ladies, it was easy.... women on holiday away from home are very um frisky so I helped them have a memorable island experience lol.

Food is great, plate lunches. Biggest drawback is cost of living, groceries are pricey... I remember feeling like it was 7-11 type high prices for everything. Price of paradise. Worth it.

been living on O’ahu for 14 years now. The growth is saddening to say the least. Overcrowded and it’s only going to get worse. If I were you I’d move to either the Big Island, Maui, or Kauai.

Big down is it's heavily democratic with upw unions costing lots of money, like the 5b rail boondoggle. And the potholes, auwe! H1 crowding. I ended up living in Hawai'i Kai, which is nice.

Miss manapua, Korean plate lunch, windward beaches

  10. Former girlfriends brother and I became and still are friends. He has lived there for 30 plus years. He has a Jewelry store. He says the natives there absolutely hate whites. It's more expensive than SoCal and has the highest cost of living than any other state. Time Zone is 4 or 5 hours earlier than west coast time.

I think everyone should go at least once, because it is so unique. I visited once and was living in San Diego at the time. I couldn't wait to get back home.
