    Hello,

I hope one of you can help me with my problem.
I'm trading on FTX. Lately it happened quite often that my stop loss/stop buy order doesn't trigger although the trigger price is hit. It caused me some unnecessary losses and it's quite scary that I can't rely on it.

The image shows an example. In this case it just wicked it, but still it should be enough to trigger the market order. I had other cases where it just ignored it completely and went right through it.
I'm trying to find a pattern when it doesn't trigger, but I haven't found the solution yet.

Does somebody has an idea why it doesn't work as it is supposed to or am I doing something wrong? I never had this problem on Binance.

    Many thanks
    Skowi

  2. Hey, i believe it could be because of the spreads or because of the quick movement of the market because of which your order could not get executed in the live market.

It happened quite often when there was quick movement in the market. But shouldn't it trigger anyway and just fill the order at market price which is maybe (considerably) higher than the trigger price?

Is stop triggered based on last price or on mark price?

  5. Usually just means the market has moved to quickly and hasn’t been able to execute your request

Stop market order should execute at market when the stop price is reached.

Having said that it has happened a couple of times to me as well in IBKR that a stop order is not triggered. And I had to manually execute it.
