Hey, where are you all getting your news from? What are your sources? Share some reliable sources, because I’m fed up with CNBC and “friends”. Of course I’m not watching CNBC for trading advice but I would like to have somewhere to get factual information from that is fairly fast and on point.

I read yahoo finance and zerohedge. I liked bloomberg, but I’m not paying them $2 a month for what I can get for free, ha-ha. Also, don’t get too wound up about news… Remember that guy Melnik or what was his name with the trade ideas based on premium news services that “only he has access to”? Well, he ended up being charged by the SEC for market manipulation or something, because “allegedly” that news were pump and dump mechanisms… There are rotten eggs not only in mainstream financial media.

Bro… what are you talking about : )? First, what do you need that information for? Do you want it to be news you can trade on or news for research and preparation or what? Have you made up your mind on that?

I don’t know, I just want something time-tested and reliable that someone would recommend.

Why do you need the news? Do you want to know what's going to happen? I don't think anyone knows and if they do it's already priced in the market.
Or do you want to know why something has happened? (like why a stock tanked or took off). It doesn't really matter, it has already happened.
For every news story that helped, you can probably find one that didn't.

You know that you must not get comfortable with whatever… One day you have it, next day they are gone – censored, canceled or converted into a paid subscription as someone said, hah. Try to be resourceful yourself and keep finding the next one.

  8. Company-issued news are interesting, I find, especially in biotech/medic sector.
For example when a company applys for approval for its new product by the FDA, and such similar news.
When it finally gets the approval then the stock usually skyrockets :),
or the opposite when it doesn't get the approval :)

If you want to get complete information on news you go with Reuters version for Metastock Xenith for $99 monthly. Then you have all the news. If you need fast API that is a different story.
