Lets not forget though that Bannon is trying to created his 'fourth turning' prophecy by hook or by crook, manipulating the world so he looks like a great mind of history for predicting it. Neil Howe's book took him off on a very narcissistic track, that is always dangerous. I'm afraid it could be less "fourth turning" by Howe and more "Foundation" by Asimov if the boys don't stop messing about.
Somebody should tell Bannon that Wall Street knows of this novel concept called shorting and unlike the little guy who only makes money on the long side, they don't mind the volatility. If only he worked at Goldman, he'd understand.
As an ex VP of Cambridge Analytical he may have some new problems, FB have increased their count from 50 to 87 million users who's data was abused under UK law it seems likely. A single man trying to tailor history like he is, a sticky end awaits.
The point of this post was to show a possible change in Trump's priorities from stock market heights to industry protection. It was not meant to be political.
Fair just statements by Steve Bannon are only political, he is always looking to spin. Bannon has been fired, disgraced and disowned by the Mercers (Breitbart), at least publicly. The article says (bold added) "Bannon, who maintains ties to the White House, said Trump's recent moves to impose tariffs are a signal to the Chinese that "the game of continual delay is over" and that they will have to address the central issue of forced technology transfers." A quandary is does anything he say matter at all or does he still have the ear of Trump or staff who actually know? I don't know but it matters. It seems to me a trade war is a bad hand to play as China is everywhere already. They seems past the point where the need to grab IP to copy things. They now have their own R&D expertise. To me, this means a trade war won't hurt them at all, they will sail past Bannon's 2020? expectation of world crisis the victor.
Steve Bannon <- I wish there is a face palm smiley. Trump really needs better advisers. Letting Cohn resign was really a big mistake.
