Will be trading live equity account, trading small size. The goal is just too grow it slowly and build consistent results, while forward testing. Also trading futures (NQ/MNQ ES/MES) on funded prop firm accounts. Focus is on MNQ / QQQ. The goal is to grow some of the funded accounts and other accounts will be used for income. Trading will largely if not entirely be intra-day. Don't see a lot of activity in other journals, so starting this general journal and will post thoughts on the day sometimes, post some trades and post weekly results. No exact plan and may not be consistent on everything starting out. Just sometimes have down time during trading day and going to see how it goes and if it is enjoyable, helps and doesn't distract continue and expand it going into more details. Anyone is welcomed to join in the conversation, post daily thoughts, trades or whatever. Any questions, comments, criticism or advice is also welcomed. Thanks.
What I did today was finish out a large evaluation to add to my funded accounts. As well as traded 2 topstep evals (on sale for $11.00 each, so couldn't resist) yesterday and today and both are about 70% done. Lightly traded my other funded prop accounts, account "A". I'll have each account identified by a letter so I can keep track of them when posting results, that way the results show for each individual account seperately. Since some accounts I'll be trading different strategies on. But every account listed and results posted will be either live or funded prop firm. Pointless to post results on eval's. Today I traded Account "A" funded prop both MES/MNQ and below are the results.
Already posted today's general thoughts yesterday in another thread. Basically had aggressive selling past 2 days that wasn't rewarded, so was looking for shorts/sellers (whatever term you want to use) to get punished.
I traded Account "B" funded toward end of day. Made more than other account, but really poor trading overall But kept things reasonable under control and followed baseline structure for how I trade. Results:
Stating the obvious that today was pretty clear and straightforward, you should be making money on days like this as a day trader. You need to really take advantage of days like today and overall I did not do a great job. None the less general context of market doesn't effect my trading so much, so isn't the biggest deal. Just something want to work on in the future. It's not everyday that is so obvious shorts are trapped on larger time frames.
Please don’t. Your buddies, Laisse and Beautiful Stranger have tried this numerous times and given up after a week.
Tempting to go long overnight. Don't like trading asia at all and think there's some japan news soon, but NQ daily is potentially going into full squeeze mode, same with ES. Which we'll see much higher prices if setup plays out obviously. At this point at least 16259 on NQ is pretty likely to get hit before any major down move as well as 4579.50. If we get above those levels, than it's just full on long again. Side note is it's pretty unhealthy overall if we get back to ATH's quickly, but this is trading journal so I'll keep it to that. Tomorrow long bias for intra-day trading unless something drastically changes overnight, that's playing to probability and will continue to do that until something changes.
Regret trading Asia, stayed up thinking may get a move and probably still will, but could take until Euro open and not worth it. My entry was too high just to hold while not watching. Ended up $1.42 and 3 hours wasted. Probably last time I give Asia a chance for a while. Hopefully 8:30 causes a dip tomorrow to shake things up, not expecting it but if it does will look for a trade setup. I do trade on voice 9:00am ish to 12:00pm ish est everyday and a lot of days until 4:00pm, with some other gentleman(various skill levels). Anyone is welcomed to join if they want, but do require I speak to you on voice for at least 10-15 min prior to actual trading. Just an open offer. Thanks guys trade well and see ya tomorrow.
Yesterday during the US session, US index futures (and Asian index futures, European index futures, bonds .....) went up significantly. So what would happen to today's Asian session? continue to go up - 10% probability don't move - 60% probability reverse direction - 30% probability For today's Asian session, I have yet to enter a single trade.
