Why are the wings of the Starship irregular? I have seen several photos, but it appears that there are only 2 wings and not 3, equally spaced around the rocket. And they look like they are mounted at a 20-30 degree angle. Why is it done this way? Are the wings folded to avoid the wind while they sit on the launchpad and become straightened prior to launch? I emailed Elon, but he has not returned my messages. He is so busy these days.....lol
I believe there are 5. 2 at the bow, 3 at the stern. The pics you posted just aren't showing them. It's a giant firework. And fireworks go boom.
I considered that but after seeing several pics and launches I convinced myself that there were not anymore.... Are they slanted ? Do they fold? I wish they had a website that profiled all the stats of the rocket, like they did with the Apollo missions and Space Shuttle.
I'm not so sure on the 3rd wing on the stern now, after watching the footage again. Mreh, no matter. I still have the triumph of Top Gear. They were just as successful on a much lower budget!
It falls back to Earth on it's belly to airbrake/reentry so they are arranged for this, they are adjustable.
