He is a weasel. There are safety problems in many of the stores for sure. But the reality is that they found out that covid drive-thru only stores were very profitable and that they did not need all the headaches of running stores, the extra staffing that they cannot find etc. So they are converting massive numbers of starbuck stores to just drive-thru - but it runs against their decades of promoting themselves as the community oriented, friendly place that is "America's meeting place." Now they know they are just becoming another drive-thru where you talk into the box and something talks back to you and that is working fine for them. But they are trying to hang it on the problem stores. It's a factor. But does not apply to the massive number that they shutting down just because the dollars work better as drive-thru. You may remember a few years ago they closed their stores for a day so that every employee could commit hari kari in the store to atone for one store refusing to let a black customer use the bathroom until he ordered something. Now they want to close stores because they find that in many stores the bathrooms are just being used to shoot up and then leave their needles there. Who is the racist now motherfuck? That employee who was demonized was just trying to make some frontline decisions about common sense management of his store before everything shiite the bed over time.
Starbucks made a bad mistake announcing people could use the stores without buying anything after they were accused of racial profiling in Philadelphia a few years ago.
If people keep disrupting society they cannot be left out in the streets. They need to be forcibly housed until they are fixed (even if that means for life). Using drugs in places of business or in our public spaces should be seen as a higher level crime than it is, because at that point they are no longer just harming themselves.
