SpeedTrader vs TradeStation

  1. Any reviews on who is better?

Platform etc? I'm offered better rates with SpeedTrader but I keep reading mixed reviews. Any thoughts?

Speedtrader also has speedtraderpro which is a completely different website. Look into it

  3. I can get SpeedTrader Pro but I'm debating on either SpeedTrader or TradeStation

The Pros of SpeedTrader is their low commissions with no base fee for options. It's .40 cents a share while TradeStation is offering me $1.00 a share for Equity Options and $1.25 for futures

SpeedTrader has a lower cost platform fee but with the amount of trades, I will be able to get that waived on both.

My main thing is to trade options but also eminis possibly. Speedtrader does not offer futures.

I'd like to get some experience from members here who have used both or one of the two.

  4. Tradestation Futures is separate from Tradestation equities and options. You have two different accounts and have to fund them separately. If you want to trade futures and equities and options, you are better off with One broker for equities and options and another one just for futures.

  5. True.

I'm thinking I use speedtrader for options and tradestation for futures.

I'm wondering if speedtrader is good. I've read some mixed reviews on speedtrader

  7. I can't tell you anything about speddtrader, but I have used tradestation for years for charting mostly but also workspaces that link everything together w/ one click... I would not consider using anything else.

As far as using tradestation as broker, I was always satisfied with execution & service, stocks, options, futures. I do not currently use them, mostly due to fact that they do not have a universal account. I would probably be willing to pay more relative to IB for tradestation, for the convenience of trading thru their platform, if they had a Universal account. I do not know how competitive the pricing is these days though.

It's half of half an answer to your question, maybe it helps, if not, it was free:D

  8. Thanks for the replies!

This is mainly for options. I wonder which one is better for options trading. I seen tradestation have optionstation pro and I'm wondering how that is?

  9. Sterling for equities, which I have used for a long time.

I don't have any experience with ST but I love TS. It requires exceptional persistence to work around it's short comings but imo this is unavoidable ...and I have extensive experience with other platforms, technology, software and hardware. Many of it's most advanced, long time users like me will tell you straight up you will learn to hate it but you will never leave it. You will stay forever because it's the best platform for research and development.
