Hi I posted over the last few weeks about Spain in various threads, but it might be time to open a specific thread. One can reflect on the costs of the lockdown. It's been quite strict here, non essential businesses largely closed, kids weren't allowed in the street for 6 weeks - a bit more for most kids who were locked in as soon as the schools closed - and adults will be allowed to go out alone for a jog or a stroll from this week end, after 7 weeks quarantine. A deescalation plan was just introduced by the government. A beauty for the enemies of freedom. Mostly copying and pasting what I posted in the Sweden thread Sorry something wrong on my keyboard and I can't find question marks anymore, they show as _ Spain, a EU and Shenghen member, came up with a lockdown deescalation plan Borders to be closed until at least end of October, Spanish folks locked in the country and foreigners can't visit. A measure already considered nonsensical by swedish authorities, as the virus is widespread. People will be allowed to go out by themselves to stroll or jog from this sunday, possibly having to obey to a government imposed schedule, like 6am -8am to stroll or jog, 8to 10 to go to work, 10am to 1pm for kids under 5 y o, 1 to 4pm to allow municipal employees to clean the streets etc... Not clear when one will be able to go and meet a friend, hopefully it will follow shortly It seems here in Spain, the government still has hope, or claims to have, to make the virus disappear. Today a study came up with november 28th as the date of the last infection in Spain. How more absurd can one get _ And what would they plan to do in that case _ Keep the country like a large jail as any contact with overseas could bring back the virus _ Schools not to reopen before September Most shops to reopen in various steps and degrees of restrictions if all go well over the next couple of months. Some sports are to reopen slowly, within 2 months there might be sporting events with public, as long as each spectator enjoys 20sqm to themselves. They seriously wrote this. There's no plan yet to reopen contact sports - which sucks big time for us. In case infection numbers increase, those stunning relaxations in rules could be cancelled and a strict lockdown reinstated It all looks like hell. A virus with 99.5% survival rate was enough for a whole country to give up its cultural traits and freedom. Not clear to me how Spain did fuck up so much, or what it plans to achieve with locking the country indefinitely but I really can't fathom how this lockdown would be worth the cost.
99.95% survival rate and falling, never going to even get to 99.8% let alone 99.5%. It's a media hyped backed by WHO / Bill Gates little virus with minimal effect, but using the FEAR factor to scare everyone into stupid decisions, screw up the entire world and then achieve Bill Gates actual goal of population reduction, not from the virus but from the aftermath of the lockdowns. Nobody is thinking straight, it's SCAREY as hell for the Plebs that doesn't understand and only think about themselves, which are dictating the ridiculous policys. Spain is fine, 1 month since peak, yes it'll keep going with less and less deaths for maybe 3months but hey people die, suck it up and get on with it, especially old people. Compare NYC with NJ same area same lockdown, NYC coming down hit Herd already, NJ still climbing on the numbers daily, proves lockdowns at US level does not work, spain is harder mind. Proves Herd is valid and maybe 0.15% death rate hoping NYC bad area rest sub 0.1%. So i've got ZERO chance of getting to Mega Muff ( Mayorca who ever it's spelt ) in August then p.s. love Spain plan to retire there, end of this year, but all kinda going wrong and Brexit so likely boned
Keep the country like a large jail as any contact with overseas could bring back the virus _ NZ and Auss have killed it via strong early lock downs, they'll have no option other than the totally lock out everyone unless a 14 day quarantine and 2 negative tests, but easier to do as there a huge island, Spain too easy for people to cross a border somewhere maybe. Until vaccine rolled out. Can NZ and Auss survive with zero money from tourists ?? doubt it. MADNESS the lot of it, Bill Gates fault, explains why the WHO has been so damn useless and advising such an over the top response, based mainly on, you could catch it again, it could mutate, nobody makes decisions based on it coulds, only what is really happening. It could turn us into zombies, so we'd been nuke ourselves before hand, it's not likely but why let that get in the way of a good feardemic.
Even if it's possible for you to go to Spain, I wouldn't risk it as long as the country is in this state of mind, you risk getting caught in a nation or hotel wide strict lockdown. The good news is the islands have less cases and are expected to reopen faster. On the other hand they're further from herd immunity, but authorities apparently would rather lock everybody back indoor indefinitely while the police harrass those who risk a foot outside than go for herd immunity. Besides, the plan to keep the borders closed for a long time was floated before and restated today with the end of October timeframe, it is not officially approved yet. Lots of news coming out here along the deescalation plan. Reading the link below, if it is accurate it seems so far only land borders are closed from Spain. It remains to be seen what flights are still available and who is able to take them, wondering how it will evolve. According to Kayak.es shortest flight from Madrid to Stockholm this week end takes 22h. Vienna is not much better. There is a direct flight to Frankfurt. Government might soon elect to close air borders anyway. I'm bordering panic here, parts of the society are to be reopened very soon which yesterday evening looked good, but today it appears circulation is expected to be very far from free for a long time, with the risk of another tough lockdown . Planning to wait for the end of the school year, so end of June, and we'll need to decide whether to escape in a hurry, possibly through France if other european borders from there have reopened or risk another year here. https://ec.europa.eu/home-affairs/w...sas/schengen/reintroduction-border-control_en
A NZ official is hopeful about tourism, he has the idea to turn the 2 weeks quarantine on arrival into a luxury spa stay for rich tourists !_! Look it up I'm serious.
Doing a Road Trip in my Classic SAAB 2001 93 Petrol Turbo when normality starts to resume and I can get some parts, Fuel pump mainly and new front shocks, go visit Sweden, anti lockdown pint if you've ran away by then, rethinking spain for Sweden as not snowflakes. When the borders are open drive it, if you can arrange a place to rent and live with the language mostly english speaking in Sweden ?? No reason for another lockdown, it was over before the lockdowns would of kicked in, like in the UK, but there not going to tell you that are they. How do you make your money ?? Just trader then live anywhere with internet ? or if not, what is job prospects like in Spain and Sweden for you ?? Lockdowns, never got strict in the UK, not using the car at night as high odds on a pull and is the trip essential and fine ( bag of food to deliver to self isolator in boot ) , but not an issue in the day so far. Scared public snowflakes grassing people up main issue, but I've dumped all snowflakes and stuck to a few with brains to see this is a scam so not an issue thus far.
Auss could do the same, 2 week cruise there, but if 1 person tests positive then you all go back. Nobody is going to waste 2 weeks in a self isolated luxury spa, where the staff would also have to self isolate incase they get infected and if tested positive have to quarantine themselves till tested safe twice LOL Also every visitor would need there own staff, which are kept seperate or 1 positive test means everyone goes home, not just that 1 person. Nightmare, not worth it, to risk having huge lockdowns and unwilling to go herd after those lockdowns, ohhh forget that, lets just get it, well scared public too much for that to ever happen.
Sure, english widely spoken in Sweden although to settle there as a family with none of us speaking the local language should be a handicap. Still speak broken german, so eyeng Austria more kindly. No problem if youa re only travellingf there on holidays. Passive investor here, not much affected by the lockdown financially, although I have assets spread over a few countries and those strict travel restrictions could become a serious issue. Job prospects must be horrendous in Spain, and tax prospects are grim as well, with far left in high places of the government and getting more powerful running a country in deep economic crisis.
Yeah, that sounds more like a joke but the journalist quoted the official as serious. Lots of coronasaga decisions sound like bitter jokes. Hard to believe I left China recently largely sick with the system there, to fall within a few months in a country with even more restrictions.
