Space tourism - why is it still not possible 50 years after the moon landing?

Space tourism just for sightseeing tours in earth orbit, and also orbital sightseeing trips to the moon.

I don't understand why this is still not possible in 2020, as such trips would sell like a hot cake!

All one needs is just something like the Space Shuttle that can take-off and land like an airplane.
And with private rooms for each of the passengers. Ie. a vehicle bigger than a Space Shuttle, more like a jumbo jet that can also fly in the empty space.

Why can nobody build such vehicles. It's IMO no rocket science! :)

for the same reason the golfing on Neptune is not offered; being possible and being probably (with the hitch that it be profitable) are not the same.

If you apply for a job at NASA, they will surely hire you right away.

Alleged quote from Ben Rich Director of Lockheed's Skunk Works:

"We already have the means to travel among the stars, but these technologies are locked up in black projects and it would take an act of God to ever get them out to benefit humanity.... Anything you can imagine, we already know how to do."

Who burnt the library of Alexandria? How many planets could have been colonized by now if that did not happen?

apparently that did not hold true for a treatment for esophageal cancer, which killed him 25 years ago.

  6. There is nothing to see on the moon. instead of thousand rich people paying millions to first land on moon, this money will be better to spend poor people around the globe. If Elon Musk dare brings it, he should be proscuted

precisely true. Might also be a space camp for fat people due to low gravity. Some might like to tweet that they had their hair cut on the moon.

The problem with the inability to space travel is not with the equipment but the tourists themselves. In order to travel to space, even just passing by, you need to be extremely fit and meet certain stringent health criteria which render most of us unqualified. You can still go but you will get very very sick or die so you would not enjoy the trip or even survive the trip. That's why it's not available yet.
