The middle son is starting his PhD program this year and has 3 low level classes to teach, and has never had to teach a class previously. Overall it hasn't been bad, but he is also finding out not everyone in college is there to study, as well as other joys of being the teacher. So far a month in he has had three kids with grandmothers dying, 4 flat tire stories, 2 "I forgot I was taking the class" stories, 1 "I just got a spray tan and can't sweat today" story(his running class), 2 brothers who come and go at will during class, now dropped from the class, and a kid having a seizure in class. He also had a student that saw him on campus before a football game, and had been abandoned by his "friends", ask if he could hang out with him at the game. My son didn't appreciate me laughing as he was telling me these stories.
