Using Ninjatrader with Zenfire...on my laptop it says the closing price of the ES was 1677.25 yesterday at 4:00 pm but on my desktop it says 1677...same setup and everything...both updated. whats the deal guys?
You mean the data sets in both instances were obtained in the same way? i.e. either both were obtained in real-time using the same real-time data, or both were obtained after-the-fact by loading (at more or less the same time in both instances) the same historical data into empty charts...?
It's a quantum mechanical thing - the measurement result depends on the observer. Just like trading. Actually this kind of thing happens frequently during the year depending on server/program time differences and locations. I have even seen it corrected the next day. I have bought things and sold things at that don't ever show. Anomalies happen from time to time.
Both were obtained within seconds of each other from the same program with the same feed in the same market. It was the close price that was different not the current live prices. I reloaded historical data from feed several times but discrepancy remains (1 tick).
OK, thanks. You could try the following (if you haven't already tried it) ... For both instances ... Tools > Historical Data Manager > Edit > Select the instrument in question > Last > Select the data in question (tick data?) for the day in question .... and delete it Then reload that day. Are the closes still different?
I think you missed the point altogether. The closing price for the same candle is different, regardless of what I call it.
While we are on the subject - something I've also been wondering is that I've noticed my charts price bars tend to look different at the end of the day as opposed to earlier in the day while I'm live trading. So if I reload the data, my price bars will change a bit. Is this normal.
