Ive been using Suretrader for about a year now and was originally drawn by the no day trader rule and a very extensive list of shortable stocks since 100% of my trades are daily shorts. There are issues that have always existed including the following: 1. They once did a wire of $1500 from my account without permission . I called them out on it and they said it was a mistake and put it back. They wouldnt tell me where it had been sent to or what happened except a "mistake". They also wouldnt even give me some free trades for such an immense issue. 2. At close orders do not work. Or rather sometimes they do and sometimes they dont. Your at close order will randomly initiate sometime before close half the time. 3. At open orders do not always work, sometimes they will initiate in premarket and subject you to massive slippage. 4. Ive had them close out positions with no order when I was making a very significant return on that day's trade. In the last 6 weeks though the following has happened 1. Their short list has DRASTICALLY been reduced...Im only able to make 66% of triggered trades when it used to be 95%. I compared it to IB's published list to see if these trades just happened to be popping up more but IB usually always has the shares available. 2. Their online help chat function is pretty much non existent. This was the best way to deal with suretrader where you would type your info/question and then it would connect you to a person to answer your question. for the last couple of months, it will try to connect and then say no one is available and leave a message. And of course, leaving a message doesnt do anything. Anyone else dealing with Suretrader, is something up? Are they starting to go belly up and cutting services?
Why not just get the heck out of that mess and find another broker? Especially when you read this..."Swiss America Securities Ltd is licensed and regulated by the Securities Commission of the Bahamas and audited financial statements are prepared and submitted annually to the Securities Commission of the Bahamas by a leading and reputable accounting firm. " Good grief, the "Securities Commission of the Bahamas"? And what is the "leading and reputable" accounting firm? Why don't they name them? http://www.scb.gov.bs/Disclaimer.html It's your money man. Do with it what you will.
I have had an account with Suretrader for a year now as well, and at the start of my time with them things went fairly well. However, in the past couple of months I have closed my account and moved to a different broker due to lack of response from trader support, weird charges being assessed to my account (and not receiving a response about what the chargers were for). The firm seemed too good to be true since they allowed US based individuals day trade with smaller accounts.
