758 coronavirus deaths yesterday in England. 1255 in the US, 95 so far today. Innovative accounting? Something does not add up with the US counts so far. Hard to fudge I imagine, and yet, it almost has a feel of death reclassifications to it. Shouldn't the numbers by now come out to be way higher?
the whole manner of collecting statistics in this is all messed up. Testing inaccuracy, mis-classified CoD, reporting inaccuracy and inconsistency, a massive population of asymptomatic and low symptom (non-tested) individuals... These numbers are worthless at this point outside of instilling fear/hope depending on what direction they go. They sure don't tell us anything meaningful.
Worldmeters (if that's what you're going by) has been slow to update the numbers lately. I'm guessing local governments are under pressure not to release the numbers intraday by CDC/fed orders as to not spook the markets. Yesterday's numbers stayed at 599 until like 10PM when they jumped 1200+. Basically...."you don't get ventilators unless you do as we say" would be my guess.
Can't agree more. Those inconsistencies really distort the count. I currently feel like I need to form trading opinions in a murky cloud.
Yeah, I just think if we want to point fingers then we should hold ourselves to higher standards and not be afraid to reflect a true picture of the status quo. I am even doubtful about aggregate numbers. As @Tsing Tao pointed out, I think the counting is completely messed up.
