Something changed with the ignore feature.

@Baron I noticed today Poopy blocked me (probably because I called Biden and idiot but that's besides the point....)

So when Poopy blocked me it was very effective and very good.
Even in incognito mode and deleting cookies and a couple other tricks I had up my sleeve there was no way to bypass the block.

I think this is a fantastic feature. It seems the block is via the IP address or something similar

Alas, it was only Poopy's message, all the other no hopers which are on ignore I could still see their posts via incognito mode.

Any chance what Poopy has done we can replicate across the board?

Also, I noticed the 'block' feature missing in the ignore list page.
What's going on there? Is it no longer possible to block someone or is it a privelege withdrawn?

I thought to myself "Dang, finally ET has sorted the block out effectively", but as mentioned it was only Poopy's posts. Now that in itself seems strange.

I just checked my ignore/block list and there are some listed there who have had me on ignore/block for a long time because I never had the chance to ignore/block them first.

Now it says that I have them on ignore. They have never been listed like this on here before. Definitely different than it used to be. Only ignore and no block. And I have people on ignore that I never put on ignore, it was the other way around.

 

And now we have a link "Show Ignored Content" at the bottom of our post which actually works when you click it.

 

So I went through my ignore list and found some things had changed, eg @PoopyDeek was on ignore whom I had never ignored.
Also @Darc who had blocked me and @maxinger who had me on block they were in my list.
(Ps if previously others had you on ignore or block then it became impossible to put them on ignore).
Looking forward to the changes, hopefully it includes a full block which works in incognito mode, because, dang that was effective.

 

@Baron may I suggest perhaps place this thread on front page so that it becomes more obvious to other posters, eg, reviewing of your ignore list and changes to the system regarding the block feature.

 

Personally, I like these changes. There's a bit of "paperwork" that needs to be done on our end to make it so. But then there is also....
