The silliness is the suggestion that a person no longer breathing is reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Yes, they are no longer exhaling CO2. But they also are not reducing greenhouse gasses by using all this supposed carbon-neutral shit like electric cars and avocado toast. His successor may be twice the producer of greenhouse gasses by choosing to travel in a Hummer. So maybe he should have been kept alive, so he produces less CO2, because he chose to drive a Toyota. If a person is no longer breathing, they are no longer exhaling CO2. There is no debate. It is true. He successor exists whether or not he was killed. Before the killing there were two CO2 emitters. After the killing, there is one CO2 emitter. 2-1 = 1. Hopefully soon it will be 1 -1 = 0. How is driving a Prius saving in the environment? Explain that logic. It is plain and simple.
