Hello, I'm a C++ programmer, and lately, I have been curious about the market. I would like to learn a little bit more based on the computer side alone. I know nothing about finance and to be honest I can't understand any of the words used in the newbies threads (by the way... I tried reading them but they were mostly for people trying to understand the financial side of trading.) What I would like to do is to play a little bit with the data of a given stock or currency... like trying to determine the big trends using interpolation or simple things like that and then to try to do some automatic trading based on the outcome. I suppose such things are fairly common and I will appreciate any pointers on a framework that allows me to do that (open source if possible). Of course, it will be better if all this is simulated. I don't think I would go into the market in the next few years... If you have replied the exact same question, just paste the link here and I will take a look... there is so much info on this site that I would be surprised if you haven't talked about this before... Thanks a lot and I'm sorry if this is just another junk post :/
