So who made the big bucks this week (ending May 2)?

Discussion in 'Trading' started by xelite777, May 2, 2014.

  1. I personally cleared about $2,300 and change with a long GBP/JPY trade (see chart below), while yesterday EUR/USD trade was a break-even trade.

I am sure some ET traders made a 5 figure profit this week (or more?) so you are invited to tell us all about it on this thread.

    Or not :p

Took a beating or lost your shirt this week? Tell us about it too.

  2. XE,

What type of trader are you? Technical or Fundamental? What is your holding period?

    Thanks.

Caught a small tail last Friday in FRCN for a couple hundred, but everything else stayed on the launch pad all week. :(

No offense but without a broker's blotter I could very well say I made 200k.

I think if you are going to talk P/L you should back it up with evidence, if you only want to discuss technicals, then that's another story.

Using him as an example, not making assumptions.

I don't think its good trader's practice to claim profitability or positions after the fact in a trader's board without evidence.

A lot of junk in this board would go away if the practice was enforced or applied by those serious about trading.

Again, not attacking the OP in anyway, just using him as an example.

  8. Hi CrudeMan,

I use a purely mechanical trading system that I developed after years and years of chart studying.

And what I discovered after all these years of testing is this : the trader needs to wait for some kind of confirmation before pushing that BUY or SELL button.

Believe or not, this simple technique allowed me to eliminate most losing trades (about 82% of them) right from the start!

  9. For privacy reasons and in my opinion, it is not a good idea to post a snapshot of your trading account P/L on the internet (in exact dollars and cents), as it will immediately identify you (brokers or their employees could simply search for the exact P/L you posted and know your identity).

They already know your social security, date of birth, address, etc.

You consider the above less important than your ET handle?

Seems like an excuse to me.
