Recently I deleted all my FaceCrook accounts and Groups - one group I had 7,000 people on it.

Also I deleted my LinkeIn account and all the Groups I had created and grown there.

Immediately my incoming email slowed down by 50%, just between FB and LIn.

Next any and all forums that are hobbies and personal interest are unsubscribed from as incoming notices appear in my inbox.

Then I moved to a remote location but luckily it has fiber internet, in the middle of nowhere.

Ridiculous but I slept for almost two weeks just getting rested up from the previous constant drama.

I have but a few trading buddies and this forum now and that's it. Keeping it simple and most important stress free from outside influences. Better life better trading.

Living like a monk is good, up to a point. Don’t use any social apps anymore, just a plain browser to see what’s going on outside.

Good for you. My sequence went like this: Cable TV was the first thing to go many years ago. Then Linked In. Then Facebook. Tried Snapchat for a week but cut that real quick. Same for Tiktok. Same for Discord. Same for Telegram. About once per month I go through my email and unsubscribe from everything I possibly can. Email is the most abused service of them all because these days you can't buy a single product online without being put in an automated email marketing system that bombards you with emails every day trying to sell you more of the same damn thing you just bought a few days ago. It's so annoying and frustrating.

I don't watch the news at night...It gets me tense and there is probably nothing I can do about it anyways. I will check the futures market, but it's just a glance...I don't trade futures, so no biggie.

I have 27 friends on Facebook...That's it. Good friends and family...No LinkedIn, Tiktok, Snapchat.

I try and get on my bicycle daily...My away time.

I was a Realtor for about 15 years. The only problem...I hated (with a passion) to network!! Also, I was good with the paperwork, but toward the end, I was hoping the the phone WOULD NOT RING!! You can tell I was in the wrong line of business...

I'm all for dropping most of the garbage social media. The only reason I setup a Facebook account was to make it easier to communicate with a buddy who ended up a quadriplegic and lives across the country. It has been kind of useful for a couple other things, but I would toss it if not for being a convenient, easy way to stay in touch with my friend. I have no other social media, well except Elite Trader. Our youngest makes fun of me for even having Facebook, he has no social media, and he is 23 years old. I guess there is hope for the next generation.
Be careful clicking unsubscribe in an email, some of those links are bad and from a general service that then tracks. Not to mention emails that are phony to begin with and clicking either gets you a virus or more tracking and emails.

I find it interesting that my 3 main "choice" activities all benefit from simplicity.

Fishing- I carry a single rod and reel in the car at all times along with a baggie of "baits". The baggie contains extra wide gap hooks, some weights and a fistful of green pumpkin Senkos. That's it. If there are fish where I stop, I will catch them.
No boat to mess with, no trip planning etc. I see water and have time, I fish it. (55 years of fishing)

Weight training- 99.9% of people would benefit from a simple full body workout 2-3 times a week. Simply add weight or reps when strength allows. Done. (50th year in the gym this year!)

Trading- I used to sit and scalp ES all day, got tired of it and thinking of what else I could be doing with my time. (fishing, gym rat hockey, pickleball, family time etc.) So now almost of all of my trading is done simply.
On expiration day I sell ES puts 10% OTM for the new cycle, no management just take to expiration. Very limited likelihood of assignment and if assigned I just wait to either scratch the contract or take a small profit as I'm satisfied just with the premium collected. Simple 2-5% monthly. (30th year of trading, 10th year of having figured this out)

Good trade on ES OTM puts, I do that weekly, 15% down from current mark. But obviously it is a side bet.
