I want to switch my system to Sierra Chart. Not a programmer... and don't intend to learn. It's not a complicated strategy (without really any technical indicators), just using percentages and the o/h/l/c price - its RTM. I really believe in simple.

Any idea how long it takes for them to program a simple strategy? I know you can't say for sure without knowing specifics... I just want a ballpark idea of what it will cost... for all I know it could be anywhere from 2 hours to 25+ hours. The Sierrachart programmers charge $50 / hour. So I'm trying to get an idea before fronting the first hour for the estimate.

Also, I'm considering switching to Multicharts (easy language but far better than TS I hear)... Does anyone have any opinions on auto-trading with Sierra vs Multicharts? Since I'm not programming it I figure it wouldn't matter and come down to speed and reliability.

Broker will stay the same, IB.

    Thanks for any advice.

  2. You can implement automated systems on Sierra Chart without using programming. They have workbooks that support this and it is easy to setup an ATS. Workbooks are very flexible and you can quickly test new strategies without a lot of upfront work. You can even use workbooks to control your risk across multiple markets if you need as well. They also have a Daily OHLC study that you could use as a starting point to this as well.

I saw this site called www.tradelogically.com where people help each other with code and such. Maybe worth asking someone there as it seems to have a few programmers on board.
