If you think of it this way, the local fishermen were people smugglers and the missionary was an illegal migrant attempting access without a visa.
Deaths happen regularly with people smuggling, usually at sea but this guy thought he had a divine purpose and be welcomed with open arms.
Well he was welcomed with open arms, their equivalent of firearms, arrows and spears.

  4. Just to get this straight among ET’s liberal crowd who voted “no”.

The inhabitants had every right to defend their land from an invader, but the United States is supposed to just let thousands of ILLEGALS walk right in?

    Liberal hypocrisy at its finest.

you have no clue whether among the eight who voted no were among ET's liberal crowd.
eight is an insufficient number to draw any conclusions.
the people who voted no are most likely to be conservatives and libertarians who hold private property as their highest values.

  7. When I voted it was 8 “no” and zero “yes”.
I’ll go out in a limb and say at least 1-2 of the 8 is a lib.

    Anyway Happy Thanksgiving

The fishermen are already in trouble for violating the law of leaving the island undisturbed. I have little sympathy for colonizers/missionaries who haven't done their homework unfortunately.

Chalk this up to another case of play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Correct and no, the murderers should not be prosecuted.
However I would not call them murderers, more like in USA you can defend your property from intruders with arms.
