Maybe the people I know are just health nuts or something, but I can't think of one person I hang out with on a regular basis who is a daily smoker of cigarettes or cigars. I think it might be a Florida thing, because when I go out of town, I feel like smokers are everywhere. Now if you're talking about weed, you can't walk ten feet in Florida without catching a whiff from someone nearby.
LOL, My experience has been completely diffferent in FLA regarding the popularity of cigars in FL. It is probably the state with the most high end cigar bars and club-- maybe even worldwide. Not to mention the huge cuban influence in Miami. Cigars are everywhere, heck there are even hot girls on south beach who carry a tray of cigars etc up and down the sand and street selling them person to person. I have never seen so many cigar smokers as I have met in Florida and I was into the scene a little in NYC. Certainly, most people who frequent these establishments don't smoke every day or even weekly, but several cigars per month. It still remains a huge business here-- I think Orlando has several huge establishments dedicated to cigars. Obviously, I know its bad for your health-- but it can be good for mental health as far as relaxations go--- Back when I was a member of Grand havana at 666 Fifth ave penthouse in NYC we held the surf fest there-- believe it or not with a good ventilation system its tolerable even for non-smokers. I have cut way back but still enjoy a cigar or two monthly depending on my mood. What I do think will put a major hurt in the cigar biz is vaping. I just got back from Boca Raton and counted 6 different Vaping franchised shops within a 5 mile area. It must be HUGE. Not sure what the health ramifications of vaping is but its certainly better than the analog alternative--- I think. Maybe someone can enlighten me. thanks! surf
