Is anyone actually for this war? Why are bomblets falling on civilians at a beach? https://www.zerohedge.com/geopoliti...acms-bomblets-raining-down-russian-beachgoers
1) ZH is a site well known as linked to the Russian propaganda machinery. 2) Russia shot down the ATACMS, hence fragments rained on their civilians (who are on vacation in occupied territory while a war is going on, brilliant idea). Video in question: Look, if this munition actually was targeting the location far more people would be killed (especially given the setup). I don't really want to debate the stated injury number but it wouldn't surprise me if it was grossly inflated (accuracy of Russian i.e. dictatorship news reports tends to be North Korea level). 3) Russia targets and kills over a dozen Ukrainan civilians daily on average since the start of the invasion, indisriminately using cruise missiles, drones, and glide bombs up to 3000 kg. For instance, they've destroyed approximately 4000 schools, preschools, and academic facilities (and actively targets them and e.g. hospitals). Ukraine deliberatly stays clear of responding in kind, this is unlikely to be a change of that policy. And pretending you're concerned for the privileged Moscow elite who can be on vacation whilst ethnic minorities in Russia are sent to the front to die (KIA+WIA at a rate of about 1200 per day for most of the past year) is fucking ridiculous.
What are they doing firing cluster bomb munitions that far from the front? It was obviously targeted at civilians.
You have missed there is an active bombing campaign to take out Russian air defenses and other military installations in Crimea? It is hit daily.
Maybe if the Russians did not launch planes from Crimea with FAB glide bombs deliberately targeting civilians in Ukrainian cities then the Ukrainian military would not have to launch ATACMS to take out the airfields. If the Russian air defense downs a Ukrainian missile over a beach then the resulting casualties are solely on the Russians. Maybe the Russian barbarians should stop targeting civilians in Ukraine.
Sure, it has even happened a few times by now that people were hurt due to Russian attempts (successes and failures alike) to shoot down incoming Ukrainian munitions. But that's the way war is. If you're going to a vacation inside a warzone, it's not possible to be perfectly safe from collateral damage. Of course Putin's propaganda that claims that he has total control over what's happening in Crimea is part to blame, but most of Russians have brains and a responsibility to deduce that 1+1=2. I.e. going to a beach in the vicinity of facilities that are being attacked constantly is simply a terrible idea unless you're OK with the risk.
Cluster bombs are anti-personnel weapons, not typically used to attack airfields and other military installations.
