The ranger who was quoted in the story was Peach. Sheehy was ticketed and paid a $525 fine for illegally discharging a firearm in Glacier, government records show. Sheehy said he fell while hiking at Glacier and injured his arm, then concocted the story about the bullet wound to cover up the fact that the 2012 incident may have been friendly fire. He said he didn’t want members of his SEAL unit in Afghanistan to suffer any consequences
OK this explains is better. But now he says the ranger is the liar about checking the gun and the self-shooting, for which he paid a fine for, never happened. Seems the handgun fell and discharged. Wounded, he gets a ticket from a park ranger. The next day he explains away the wound as a hiking injury to a reporter, not an embarrassing accidental discharge. The ranger calls BS. Sheehy tries to lie his way out making up a story about protecting his unit from a possible friendly fire investigation. But there is no logical consistency and now he says tht ranger lied about finding a discharged round in the revolver. Which brings it back to claiming a fall injury was not from a gunshot but paying the accidental discharge fine.. ??
