I hope someone on this thread has experience and first hand knowledge about this. I trade through AMP using ninjatrader (free edition ) and recently looked into using X-trader. I'm trying to manage my risk by allowing myself to trade certain max contract size ( 5 contract ) position and stop loss limit per day ($1000).

So, I want to be able to trade 5 contract as max position and if I hit a stop loss of $1000 to liquidate me. I have been in contact with AMP and they cannot set these parameters. Whatever I have in acct... Say 10k then only step in when I lose 80% of my account value per day. I guess they want you to keep trading n churn.

I've also contacted X-Trader and they cannot set these parameters. These two things would and should seem easy to do but no futures broker has capabilities to do this. I've been day trading for 14 years as a prop trader and I have these parameters set so easily.

How come futures trading doesn't have this? Or am I wrong and looking at the wrong company or place?

Thanks in advance for your advice...

Software add ins such as that that brokers offer intrigue me. But since this is the first time I have ever heard of them would somebody chime in with some honest remarks? I track all these stats myself in Excel but it sure would be nice to drop that workload of tracking mfe/mae ticks manually.

And I am wondering why they have an OEC (open e -cry broker) portal on the site as well? Strategic partners?

I know who ft71 is. He is going to give a seminar for some TopStepTrader Folks on May 9th as well as some other industry names that I may fly out for.

I want to know about the firm itself.

    Has anybody traded with them?

  5. I had my account with them (before I blew out my account). my experience with talking to them and opening and closing of my account was very good. even when I contacted them 6 months after I closed my account they treated me with well instead of blowing me off. from all the reviews I've seen on investomonials everybody is pretty happy with the service.

  7. I like your premise, using $ base stops. Have you tried to create one using tt's order builder, adl. Try posting a question to their user forum and someone may create it for you.
