Pretty sure I just heard the Senator admit that Congress takes bribes to fix the tax code. In response to a question using Amazon as an example of a company that doesn't pay their fair share, she said (paraphrase) these companies hire mountains of lawyers and CPAs to come out to Washington and essentially write the tax code so it benefits their clients and not the country.
Well, last time I checked it was Congress who writes up and takes away in the tax code and in fact a person or company can't pass tax laws on their own, oddly they actually have to be passed by Congress and approved by whoever the president is at the time.
So, does it follow that since these companies can send people out to D.C. with what they want to see in the tax code, and wine and dine, let them use their corporate jets, discreetly promise support for campaigns, etc., that the companies themselves are probably guilty of bribery, but even more so, that our "esteemed members" of Congress( a term they love to laud each other with) are accepting bribes?
I am not claiming a new insight here, but it is truly a sad kind of funny when a member of Congress seemingly admits to the blatant bribery that goes on, and yet, like a child tries to blame the other guy.
She just happened to be on the air, it applies to both parties. The interview just caught me while I was all ready ticked off about another issue that was political related.

there is no such thing as a "fair share" the only people that you will ever hear tell you to pay your "fair share" is a criminal trying to steal from you
