I really dislike when democrats make this argument. The senate is not the house, it has a totally different purpose. It’s important to remember all of the power the federa government has is actually derived from the states. In exchange the states are granted two senators as a check to the House (the people) and the president (the nation). It would be smarter to argue to abolish the senate than to argue some states should have more senators.
Meaningless. This is The United States of America, not The United Peoples of America. At some point you will realize that a President could be elected with 49 popular votes total (or less). Once you understand that, we'll all be better off.
Very reasonable argument. We speak of abolishing the First Amendment or eliminating the Supreme Court. Thank God our founders were smarter than our left and could think big picture and longer term.
I think this is one of the dumbest posts I've ever seen on ET and that's saying a lot. Totally meaningless metric. The more populous states have more Democrat voters, so of course the total Dem vote could be higher that the total Republican vote, regardless of the the outcome.
The truth of the matter is that Senators should not be directly elected by the people but instead appointed by the state legislatures the way The Constitution originally stated. This was one of the ways that the states were represented in Congreff and had the voice that the folks in the states were entitled to.
Simmer down. NPCs hate it when people point out the Constitution after it leads to results they don't like.
