Hello, I'm looking for a CTA whose trading platform is (1) automated and (2) interfaces with TD Ameritrade/ThinkOrSwim's API. Please PM me.
A CTA would typically work with a specialized Futures Broker that can make capital introductions. Chicago firms. Though, it is conceivable that someone could have started at TD.
Thanks for replying, Xandman. I hear what you're saying (that futures firms are happy to recommend one or more CTA's to me). Maybe I should have worded my post differently. Finding a CTA is no problem. What I'm really looking for is an EZ Language (or equivalent) mentor. I already have an algorithm I'm comfortable with, but I need help automating it.
so i guess you know about bouncing ticks, the fallacy of using limit orders, data spurts, impossible real time fills, all of which give false results when testing a system. if you are not testing with slippage and commissions and systems that avoid the above mentioned quirks, then you will wind up like most every other ts newb - broke.
Thanks for responding, Mr. Brown. You mention slippage; with limit orders (buying on the way down, or selling on the way up) I have none, though I may or may not get a fill. And yes, I remember MIT orders, but E*Trade doesn't offer those. Although I mention EZ Language, I don't like Monex so I'm not using Trade Station. Have you a suggested futures broker (other than E*Trade), or/and know of a CTA who's in the greater Seattle area (to meet in person)?
I haven't heard much of EZ Language since I joined ET. I read Kaufman back in the 90s(?). Try the Tradestation forum. Though, I am sure we have some old experts here.
Actully E*trade has MIT order. Stop on Quote (MIT) and Stop Limit on Quote (LIT). What Monex has to do with Not Liking Tradestation? Monex is one of the largest Japanese brokerage and in Asia. And Tradestation is running the operation as usuall.
