    Hello Folks,

Are there any free scan services out there which allows us to scan for sectors that are doing good or bad or confirming to some technical criteria?

Tried looking around on google but came across only stock scan type website or scan for stocks in certain groups. Nothing specific to sectors or industry groups.

    Thanks all !!

I dont know of any free or inexpensive service that allows you to create and scan industries.
    That would be nice.

  4. Hi, I don’t know if you can find this yourself but I e-mail my broker John at Accendo Markets and he gets me a full breakdown of sectors/stocks which fulfil certain technical criteria (MACD crossovers for example). He can also send me a spreadsheet of best/worst performers over the past week/month/year. Basically, he has a system which can get me anything like this at a quick request

  6. It would be difficult to find. You need a service that would scan sector indexes. There are basically three main group of sector indexes: S&P sector index, DOW sector indexes and Nasdaq/PHLX sector indexes. You may try http://www.standardandpoors.com/ - they have free membership. You may go through their reports, ratings and analysis on the market sectors. Get it directly from the source.

If you need technical analysis of indexes, especially on volume and advance decline indicators, then I may recommend http://www.marketvolume.com/ but is is not going to be free.
