Supreme Court erases ruling against Trump over his Twitter account
    • The Supreme Court erased a federal appeals court decision holding that former President Trump violated the Constitution by blocking his critics on Twitter.
    • The justices vacated the decision from the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and sent it back to the lower court with instructions to dismiss the case as “moot,” or no longer active, now that Trump is a private citizen.
    • The action means the lower court’s decision will no longer bind future judges.
    • The announcement came in an order list and without a written explanation of the court’s reasoning. There were no noted dissents.

Justice Thomas grumbles over Trump's social media ban
Thomas’ complaints track closely with those of Republicans, but the GOP is not alone in its concerns about big tech.

The decision by social media giants Twitter and Facebook to ban former President Donald Trump from their platforms appears to have drawn the ire of one of America’s most prominent jurists: Justice Clarence Thomas.

As the Supreme Court issued an order Monday declaring moot a lawsuit over Trump’s blocking of some Twitter users from commenting on his feed, Thomas weighed in with a 12-page lament about the power of social media firms like Twitter.

“Today’s digital platforms provide avenues for historically unprecedented amounts of speech, including speech by government actors. Also unprecedented, however, is control of so much speech in the hands of a few private parties,” Thomas wrote. “We will soon have no choice but to address how our legal doctrines apply to highly concentrated, privately owned information infrastructure such as digital platforms.”

  2. Justice Thomas starting to embarass himself more and more..

The fucking President has a press office fully staffed and is followed by every fucking media outlet in the world.... and a private platform bans him and the Supreme Court should give a fuck??

So much for being agaisnt judical activism huh..... he wrote a 12 page lament...

No one gives a fuck about your lament,,,, do your job interpreting the law.. fucking hypocrite.

I swear to God, it seems that if all social media were to suddenly get turned off, the fucking planet would stop rotating.

How did we as a species survive before all this stupid "social media"?

  5. I have to admit that outside of FB (mostly reading and keeping in touch with family/friends) and ET (to kill brian cells) I dont do much social media except some tik tok to kill some time and stare at some amazing women. Then again I am not important to post my diarrhea comments of every thought that ever entered my head in twitter, instragram or snapcunt.

Indeed. Only "social media" I use is FB, like you to keep in touch with F&F, and some time-killing games. Tweeting is for the birds. Literally.

  7. Tik tok though.... I have wasted more time and killed more brain cells on that app..

If you want to see hudreds of desparate/thirsty individuals trying to become famous doing the most low level IQ shit, spend some time on Tik tok. As a spectator sport it is really fun but kind of like when you watch someone out of pity haha.

For that sort of thing I just watch the "fail videos" on Youtube. I have a limited data plan on the phone so stick with the ol' FIOS on the PC instead. Bigger screen, too!
