https://www.reuters.com/legal/ftxs-...-back-court-2023-08-11/?utm_source=reddit.com As they say, dumb as fuck: "Federal prosecutors in Manhattan first made their surprise request to jail Bankman-Fried last month, saying he "crossed a line" by sharing former romantic partner and Alameda Chief Executive Caroline Ellison's personal writings with a New York Times reporter. Ellison and two other former members of Bankman-Fried's inner circle have pleaded guilty to fraud and agreed to cooperate with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan. She is expected to testify against him at his scheduled Oct. 2 trial. As part of his bail conditions, prosecutors had been able to monitor his telephone and internet activity. Kaplan said he was concerned that Bankman-Fried showed the writings to the reporter during an in-person meeting at his parents' home."
%% ABC news reported the same ,''SBF....Tampered with Witnesses In his Fraud case ''/8-11-2023 Interesting he also gave millions to some in media; no where did I ever see a disclosure in any article of that until now. Actually when TIME magazine praised him some time ago\ i figured they were wrong, wrong so long , pattern. Good thing as condition of SBF bail, prosecutors could moniter his telephone + internet activity\OOPS
I have to ask... who cares? Seriously, so what? SBF let someone look over some love-letters from an X who in typical female-fashion of Wall Street, threw her man under the bus to save her own ass. Is that it? What is the big deal?
I think it is generational stupidity. This generation grew up without consequences for their actions. Everybody is a winner! Participation trophies and other bullshit.
Financial booms have always driven scams and fraud. It feels at times like we’ve been in one long bubble for 20 years, but the Covid helicopter money volcano really was something special. FTX had hundreds of millions in funding from legit pro VC firms and nobody batted an eye over any of the governance or accounting issues.
Well thanks Captain Obvious. This crypto side of Elite Trader was obviously full of dying boomers who haven't listened to their radios in over 2-years and missed that. Now, are you really SURE SBF misused the client's funds? Hint: That wasn't what I was asking...
