By this "logic" anything exported from the U.S. is some kind of loss to M'urica and nefarious gain for the country importing it. Not sure if you're agreeing with this idea or not Banjo, but your screen name is very evocative of the type of people I'd imagine to hold these views!

Then you possess a limited imagination, not bad with snark though.

You're right, I don't deal in an imaginary world. In the real world, we export apples, grapes, cucumbers... all grown using U.S. land and U.S. water. We export cars to Japan from factories owned by Japanese companies made of steel mined in the U.S. and smelted with U.S. coal, the list goes on and on the encompass almost any conceivable natural resource or product of a natural resource. In some cases the factories/land/mines are owned by U.S. companies, in some cases multinationals, in some cases foreign countries, in most cases a combination of all of the above. In none of these cases do I feel that the countries we're exporting to are in any way "stealing" anything from us. But apparently the Saudi's are doing doing something nefarious by exporting hay, of all things you've decided to make a stand on hay, grown in the U.S. Seriously? Can you broaden my imagination with how this is something we should all be worried about?

Sig, just noticed this. Yes ,I have a complete understanding of global economics. We are on 2 different pages here. My fault for not posting in P&R. You dove into the economic portion of the post that I wasn't focused on at all. Obviously you're correct re: the econ. I have a distinct problem with Saudi and Iran, lost 2 second cousins to terrorism in Israel. Both those countries are hardcore sponsors. Anything I come accross that in any way shows them in a bad light I use in some fashion. That was my focus, not the econ. My bad for posting in the wrong forum.
