It almost certainly cost the Saints the game and a birth in the Super Bowl. (If the receiver catches the pass, 1st down... run out the clock. If proper pass interference call, 1st down... run out the clock.) Almost as egregious a non-call to the Chief's benefit on an "illegal pick" which got the Chiefs down to the 2-yard line, then into the end zone to take the lead with a couple of minutes left. Righteously, the Pats ended up winning the game. I'm gonna have to root for the despised(?) Pats in the Super Bowl just because the Rams get to play ONLY because of HUGELY OBVIOUS missed call by the ref. (Was the side judge not paying attention so that he didn't see it? Maybe he was just texting. You know how distracting that can be.) Lotta sucky officiating...
Both games were poorly officiated. I would be very angry if I were a Saints fan though. The ironic thing about that play was if the Rams DB had turned his head, he could have had an easy interception.
