Russia to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine?

"Game theory specialist Georgy Egorov has warned that a nuke attack “makes sense” for Putin if he only has a few months to live, The Sun reported.

“It makes sense to use nuclear weapons for Putin in only one situation – if the rumors about his health problems are true — if he has a few months left to live — he does not want to go down in history as a loser,” Egorov told Novaya Gazeta."

 

Would The Generals who have kids and grand kids follow those orders under those circumstances?

a nuke is just a sign of desperation.

Russia's nuclear doctrine has been repeatedly stated in clear terms and reinforced again and again.
There is no mystery if you listen to the source.
Nuclear arms will only be used in 2 cases"
retaliation for a strike AGAINST Russia.
And - existential threat against Russia: ie, invading army actually crossing the border. This would be only a tactical strike against the forces themselves, NOT against their home cities, etc.
