RSS feeds (news aggregators)

Discussion in 'Strategy Building' started by ducatista, Apr 19, 2020.

  1. Does anyone use these anymore? Seems all ET posts on this are a decade old, so I assume I’m behind the times.

Specifically I’m looking for some aggregator that returns relevant info to me for whatever I’m interested in. Someone posted an article about USO temporarily changing their rolling protocol, which is hugely relevant to my trading. But this was largely serendipitous and I need a better way to be informed of news that may impact me.

Even searching “USO” in google does not return the article (which came from Bloomberg btw), in fact google returns nothing except useless seekingalpha crap. How do I find it then?

As another example, if SP were planning to replace companies in their index, I would want to find a way to have this show up in my aggregator. Here my search would need to be more broad than a simple ticker like USO, but it’s still relevant to my trading

Please advise on some turnkey solution to help me aggregate relevant news. Is everyone just using their brokers for this?

I use www.Feedly.com on iOS, Android and web. Read zerohedge and seeking alpha in it. Bloomberg seem to have email newsletters as opposed to an RSS feed. Maybe you could try guessing the RSS feed. Reuter’s have an RSS feed.

Though it sounds like google alerts is what you are after. RSS is just every web page from one site. Google alerts will send you everything on a subject from every website to your email. If you do not want lots of email then set it for one amalgamated email per day.
