Roy Moore Slams America, Says ‘Maybe Putin Is Right’ Roy Moore, the Republican candidate from Alabama who’s vying for the U.S. Senate, once slammed the United States for promoting “a lot of bad things,” and praised Russian President Vladimir Putin. In an interview over the summer that’s getting renewed attention this week, The Guardian quoted President Ronald Reagan for once calling the Soviet Union “the focus of evil in the modern world.” Reagan made the comments during his “evil empire” speech in 1983. Jonathan Bachman via Getty Images During an interview last summer with The Guardian newspaper, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Roy Moore found similarities between himself and Russian President Vladimir Putin. “You could say that very well about America, couldn’t you?” Moore said. “We promote a lot of bad things.” Moore then cited same-sex marriage as an example. When questioned about the fact that Putin held similar views, Moore gave an unconventional answer for an American politician. “Well, then maybe Putin is right,” Moore said. “Maybe he’s more akin to me than I know.”
Roy Moore Believes America Was Great During Slavery. GOP Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore stunned some listeners when he said he thought America was “great” during the era of slavery. Though he made the comments at a campaign rally in Florence, Alabama, more than two months ago, they’ve re-emerged in a viral tweet just days before the election. Back in September, one of the few African-Americans in the crowd asked the candidate when he thought was the “last time” America was great. “I think it was great at the time when families were united. Even though we had slavery, they cared for one another. ... Our families were strong, our country had a direction,” Moore responded, according to a Los Angeles Times report in September. At the same rally, he also referred to Native Americans and Asians as “reds and yellows,” the LA Times reported.
What are you going to do about it? You have tried the robo-post approach. Howz that workin out for ya? Better have your therapy dog on stand by.
Here's my theory (btw, I think Moore is a kook...Hollywood couldn't make this up) Moore wins McConnell hauls him to ethics committee. Committee votes to kick out of Senate AL Gov picks Sessions to replace (what a disappointment as AG). It's a Twofer!!
The real question is what are republicans going to do about it. Child molesters in the Senate brought to you by Donald Trump and Steve Bannon. Drain the swamp and turn it into a toxic waste dump. Smart.
If he wins, maybe moore will announce that he is thinking about resigning sometime like Al Franken says. More likely, Al just wants to cop a few more free feels before he leaves.
Could also turn out to be a Zerofer. The senate has absolutely zero power under the constitution to expel moore for offenses not committed in office that were known to voters as long as that person's election is certified by the state.
